ALL about my birthing experience.

Two days before I had Addison, the doctor stripped my membranes to try to get things goin cause i was 2cm and 80% effaced for about 3 weeks.. He had also scheduled for me to get induced on the 22nd that Thursday just in case I hadnt gone into labor by then. After the doctor stripped my membranes, i had started feeling crampy almost instantly! 

Well, Wednesday night came along, of course I cant sleep cause I was supposed to be at the hospital at 4AM that Thursday morning.. But thats besides the point lol.. at about 10pm Wednesday night I was getting cramps, I couldnt tell what was a braxton hick or a contraction because they were so low in my stomach, and everyone told me contractions were felt through your entire stomach.. Well they kept getting stronger, and closer together.. I knew they HAD to be contractions! Finally 1130pm comes and I can no longer speak during the contractions they were hurting so bad. I didnt wanna just jump and run to the hospital though cause I just still wasnt sure if they were really contractions, so I call the hospital and they tell me to come in!

By time we get there and check in, they are 3 minutes apart and HOLY S*** they hurt! lol I get taken to this room where they monitor me before actually admitting me. I was only 3cm so the nurse tells me to walk for an hr then she will check me again, if nothing has changed I may have to go home. We walk, she checks, Im still only 3cm and at this point in LOTS of pain! I look at her and just cry and tell her cant send me home like this! (And I was being such a champ through these contractions up until this point!) She said well I really think this is the real deal, so walk a bit more and ill check in a few.. at this point i cant even walk lol!! Finally Im 4cm and I get admitted! 

I get my epidural THANK GOD! I tried to nap a bit.. Oh by the way I got to the hospital at about midnight or so and admitted at about 4am. 

At about 10am I was still at 5cm, so the nurse decides to give me pitocin and says she will check me in 2 hours. So at maybe 1130am Im starting to feel like Addison is coming.. first time i felt it i just blew it off, thinking it was maybe a contraction.. second time I'm like OH NO Niels, I think you need to call the nurse ASAP! I tell her i think i need to push, she checks me and says "OH MY GOODNESS! that happened alot faster than i thought, yes its time to push!" 

I felt like everyone in the room got chaotic at that point! lol My in-laws had JUST got there and so did my dad so they came in wished me luck and everyone was kicked out right when they got there lol! 

The doctor was busy with someone else at that moment and the nurse kept telling me, wait, wait to push, wait! Im thinking to myself, im not pushin, but shes coming!! The doctor came in after my second or third push. I think I pushed about 10 times or so.. maybe more I wasnt exactly counting lol. They were kinda telling me when to push and that sorta thing, but in that moment I just tuned everyone out and pushed when i felt like I needed to. 

Finally she came! 12:09 pm on the 22nd!

I pushed for about 30 minutes! It was kinda easy too now that I think about it :] It could have been way worse! 

Overall it was a great experience, only Niels was in the room and I had my best friend Jamie on skype with me (cause shes in Afganistan).. I dont think I would change one thing about her birthday! Except I wish my best friend was there in person :\ But Im really glad she saw everything on camera anyways! It was great!

38 and STILL counting, grr!

LAMEEEEEEEEEEEE, still no baby! Went to the doctor yesterday, Im still 2cm and 80% effaced.. HOPEFULLY something will happen this week! The doctor said that if I do make it to next tuesday and Im still 2cm we can talk about inducing if im absolutely dying.. So that is something for me to think about IF i do make it to next week(fingers crossed it just happens!). Plus I know that with gestational diabetes they dont let you go over 40 weeks so I may have to anyways.. We will just see though. 

I would rather it happen naturally just for the experience but I truly am getting impatient lol. Also, Niels randomly had a fever of 102 last night, I have no idea where it came from cause he was fine all day and all night then suddenly was like a zombie. Today he hasnt had a fever though, just a little headache. Thank goodness cause I do not need him sick right now! 

SO! I have been stumbling lately! I am finding all kinds of tasty treats that I am dying to make but Im not going to till after I have Addison cause they will make my sugar levels out of control! But cheesecake brownies?! Ah! I cant wait to make those, and hopefully I dont screw them up! Annnnd, cinnamon roll pancakes for breakfast, and then for dinner, bacon mac N cheese!

Cant wait! Oh and also, i made a post last week about the snickerdoodle cupcakes, well my step mom tried them out and let me tell you, they were DELICIOUS! TRY EM! You'll thank me :] 

ANY DAY!

Well, I went to the doctor Tuesday, found out my cervix is VERY effaced and I am dilated 2cm!

This little girl is due ANY DAY NOW and since Monday I have been having signs that labor is starting.. especially these last two days!

I WANT HER OUTTTTTTTT! Im tired of being pregnant! lol and I just really wanna meet this princess and put her in all of her cute stuff that I cant stop staring at each and every day! 

Pray for an easy labor for me and a safe arrival for Addison :]

Baby Showers & Closer to Delivery!

I cant believe that its almost time for Addison to finally be here!! When I think about it, the time really has flown by! But, now that Im 9 months... I wouldnt mind if she just all the sudden came! I cant wait to meet her and to start feeling not pregnant! ANDD so I can maybe go on a "good job for carrying baby" shopping spree :] 

So right now I am 36 weeks and 4 days!

AKA HUGE! 

Got an ultra sound.. shes getting her head nicely snugged down LOW.. and she weighs about 5-5.5lbs. Im not sure if I want her to get much bigger than that! lol

Also, I had my baby showers! Yes, I had two. They were awesome! My house belongs to Addison now. I got just about EVERYTHING I could have possibly needed! Im a little bit jealous of my unborn child lol!! Her closet looks better than anyone elses I know :]

I took a little nap after the shower and when I woke up, Niels had EVERYTHING set up... Including her bathroom! He filled up her medicine cabinet, got her tub all together, set her towels up on the towel rack and also filled up a cute little basket full of her bath stuff and more towels. 
Ya think hes excited at all?? lol 


He will be such a good daddy! Addison already has him wrapped around her finger! I cant wait to see the two of them together :]


Thank you to everyone that came and helped us out! We really really appreciate it and couldnt have done this without the support of our family and friends! Just a couple more weeks and little missy will be here! 

Catching up on things....

Jeez, I havent blogged in forever it seems like! Ive missed it, so here it goes..

Well a few weeks ago I went to Utah with Debbie, Kelsie and Aunt Kathy. I had so much fun! I loved Utah and its awesome weather and mountains! 

It was my first time going, and I learned alot about Mormons! lol Kels and I went and saw her first movie! Well, her first movie since shes been back on her mission.. We saw Captain America..... DONT see it! Its a HUGE let down! So after a huge dissapointment like that, we went back to Aunt Peggy's house and watched Avatar, and she loved it! Also we went to Josh's wedding.. It was really cute and nice. I finally got to meet the rest of the family so that was really nice! All the cousins are really awesome! OH and then there was the horrendous car ride to Utah and back to AZ! lol It honestly wasnt THAT bad, but my back thought it was! Overall it was a really great trip and I loved seeing the people I already knew and the meeting the rest of them!

Moving onnnnnn, Im 34 weeks prego this week! 

Only 6 weeks left! Im starting to get super nervous and excited all at the same time! Its almost an unreal feeling! I just cant wait to see what she is going to look like! Im really nervous to push her out though! Thank the Lord for epidurals!!!! :] Im having a baby shower this weekend and next weekend that I am super excited for! I cant wait to get working on her room! It needs to be done FAST! She could come anytime after the showers! I would be so mad if she came early and her cute little room wasnt ready for her! lol 

My mom bought Addison a stroller and car seat!

Its cute and neutral for possibly some more babies in the future :] I have quite a plan for Niels and I and our little family... that wont be so little in like 10 years ! Niels put the stroller together then started pushing it around the house, running over whatever was in his way yelling, "Oh YEAHHH! Look how good it runs over things! This is awesome!" Hahahah I was like ummm, I really hope thats not how your going to push our baby around! Like a crazy angry daddy! lol

Oh, I started back at my old job too at Arizona Hair co doing Reception! I worked there for almost 3 years then I quite for a year and now Im back! I really love it there!

Ok, so Im going to keep this up to date till Addison comes! I SWEAR!

FINALLY, I met Kelsie!!!

Yep, that's right, I have never even met her before! I had gotten married and pregnant before she even came home! What can we say, we just wanted to get the party started! Anyways, we made a ton of signs and t-shirts for her and we wore everything to the airport. There was so much anticipation! We welcomed SOOO many random people to Arizona though! hahaha It was great. I was standin there thinkin, "we should totally come and do this when we are bored!" It was seriously quite entertaining, people seemed really confused! Then finally she came! She seemed so overwhelmed cause everyone was seriously just screaming and so excited to see her! 

She bought Addison a few super cute outfits and little shoes! Two of the outfits I seriously cant wait to see her in cause shes going to look like a little gangster girl and its going to be funny and adorable all at the same time! The little tennis that she got though make me crazy cause they are so cute! Im tellin you, this girl is so spoiled already she is just going to love life! 

But I LOVE Kelsie, shes so cute and her laugh is so contagious I love it! I cant wait to go on a road trip with her next week and get to know her completely! Its gunna be so much fun!

Why I Love Niels Whipple!

I could go on and on... but seriously I love him so much I wouldnt trade him for anything on the planet! I cant wait for our little one to come and start a huge family together and be together forever and ever <3

Realizing Responsibilities.

This post is a little bit from frustration.. I know someone that may possibly be pregnant. She was not on birth control and used no protection at the time. Its too early for her to tell yet if she is, but I am talking to her a little bit here and there cause she came to me with the concern that she could be. I asked her if she wanted to be, and her response was..."well I think it would be an experience, so yeah I kinda do want to be". That right there really got me going cause she said is in such a nonchalant way...

Girls these days are getting so wrapped up in these teen mom shows and the 16 and pregnant shows and the cute little baby part of things. There is sooooo much more to bringing a baby into the world. Its really kinda selfish of girls to want to bring a baby into the world when they are far from ready.. What I mean by that is, this girl I am talking about has no support system, shes not married and she has no boyfriend to take care of her and she doesnt have the best group of friends and Im not sure how much her family will be willing to help. She told her now ex boyfriend that she may be pregnant, and he shows no sign of caring in the slightest.

Yes, Niels and I were caught off guard when I got pregnant, but I was on birth control and it failed me... No we are still not prepared for Addison to come home with us when the day comes, but is anyone really ever TRULY prepared?! We are now realizing how much diapers we are going to need and how expensive they are and we know that we are going to be up all hours of the night with her and that we need strollers, car seats, a crib, play mats, baby bath tub, clothes, on top of the bills we already have. Dont get me wrong Im not mad at any of these things, my point is... these girls forget about ALL these very important things! These things never stop either cause they keep growing!

I guess now that I am pregnant I take these things to heart more. I just love this little girl so much that I cant imagine bringing her into a broken home. I could never do this without my husband. It just breaks me to think that people could forget about all the important parts of bringing a child into the world. Addison is one of the best accidents that has ever happened to Niels and I. And YES we are so wrapped up in the how cute she is going to be part! But we are also not forgetting the importance of her needs and we will do everything we possibly can to prepare for her homecoming! I just wish people would be more careful when they are having sex and i wish people wouldnt forget about the consequence along with it.

SO there! Thats my two cents! :]

While the Game's on...

Everynight at midnight I get stuck watching the D-backs game with Niels because he misses the live games while he's at work, I get pretty bored while they are on so I figured I'd blog this time. 

The 4th of July was pretty awesome this year with my new family! It was Niels' and I first 4th together. We swam all day and got tanned/burnt(which was the goal...SUCCESS!). Trevor had a ton of fireworks so when it got dark the boys put on a firework show for everyone in the back yard while we all sat in the pool and shouted American things and songs over the loud booms and bangs. These were some of the things randomly shouted: "WAL-MART!, POWER-TOOLS!, FREEDOM!, KFC! and, a bunch more that seriously cracked me up, along with God Bless America, The Pledge of Allegiance and few other songs. 

Alsoooooo Kelsey, my sister I've never met FINALLY is coming home this month! I am so so excited to meet her! I say finally like I've been waiting the whole year in a half for her to come back but it seriously feels that way! lol! I'm just really excited cause I hear so much about her and we have emailed a lot back and forth AND because she IS my new sister!!! 

Only about 11 weeks left of my pregnancy! I cant believe how fast it has gone by so far! Niels and I are so super excited fro her arrival. Niels is going to be the cutest dad ever! He already is actually! There is no doubt in my mind that we are going to be great parents! :]

Back in Action !

So Niels and I went to Tucson this weekend and spent a couple days with my best friend Jamie and her family. We've been best friends since my sophomore year of high school and she is going to Afghanistan next month for 4 months. I feel bad for her cause shes going to miss her daughter Sawyers firsts of alot of things because she is only 6 months. Im just glad she only got a 4 month deployment so she will be back in time for her first birthday! I couldn't even imagine leaving my little girl before she was a yr old. Im just glad its easy for them to communicate with family and stuff from over there so she will be able to Skype with her husband and little girl.

Her and Addison are best friends already! Hahah I cant wait for them to be real best friends!

Man, my ribs have been hurting like crazy lately! AND my back! I told my doctor all this and she basically said, yup thats what happens! I was looking for more of a "Oh, here's something to help your back(writes prescription) lol! But she suggested a prenatal massage, so I got one scheduled for this week, hopefully its as amazing as they say it is.

Also! Niels and I finally got our brand new couch our parents bought us! ITS AMAZING having a whole couch instead of a tiny love seat, or 1/3 of a couch lol

Its hard to see how big it is in this picture, but its a pretty big couch! So if you want to come over to sit on our couch.... please do! :] 

Oh, I start going to the doctor every two weeks now! I cannot believe how fast my pregnancy is going by... It seems just like yesterday I sat down the parents and said " I had a little whoopsie!" hahah! so far its the best accident thats ever happened. Its crazy how you can love someone so much that you haven't even met yet! 

Summer!

So, today Niels and I went to his friends birthday kick-back, and for some CRAZY reason, we were sitting outside! No, there was not a pool anywhere in site... and I literally felt like I was melting!! Now I know why everyone has been telling me being pregnant in the summer sucks! So we went inside because I was burning up, and I did not cool down for like 25 minutes! So I have a feeling this is going to be a loooong summer ! lol 

Tonight I made "juicy lucy's" and mac & cheese for dinner. I saw juicy lucy's on the tv show man vs. food once and they are delicious! Basically its a burger with a bunch of cheese in the middle , so when you bite into it you get an explosion of delicious, perfectly melted cheese in your mouth! Niels scarfed two down in minutes. But really he scarfs anything down in minutes lol. Oh, the other night I made chicken enchilada chili. It turned out to be one of the best things I have ever made! if anyone wants the recipe let me know! Its great!

Preggie update:

26 weeks.. gettin bigger and bigger everyweek!

I think I have a little acrobat in there! Or shes just really bored in that dark little cave in there! lol

Workin mom-to-be!!

Welp, I finally got a job! No more playing house wifey, booo! Its for the best though I guess! Its kind of a perfect job for me right now. Its part time, M-F 830am to noonish or 1. Today I stayed till 2. Im this guy Rob's assistant. Basically I call around to law firms around the valley and fill his schedule up! He works for LexisNexis and sells law firms softwares to help better run their firm. Its pretty quite, we work from his home office. Its just kinda boring cause its only him and I in the office and hes kinda an older gentleman so I feel like it would be more fun if he were a girl so I had someone to talk to all day, cause Im a talker for sure! lol What can I say Im a girl!

I guess thats why I stayed at the hair salon for 3 years! 

So the plan is to work there after I have the baby, so Niels can stay home with her in the mornings, then I will be home in the afternoon to stay with her while Niels goes to work, then drop her off at one of the parents for a few hours while I go to school from 5pm to 9pm and Niels will pick her up when he gets off work around 7 or 8pm! Sounds like a good plan, but now Im reading this and now it just sounds exhausting! I just gotta remember it will only be for a short time! Or maybe we will win the lottery right when Addison is born and I will never have to work again! lol (yeahhh right!)

Now Im feeling like a baby cause before I had to do this whole work thing, I got to spend all morning and half the afternoon with my husband, but today he left for work right when i got home and I feel like I havent seen him ALL DAY! I miss him! Now I know how my sister Roni feels! I feel your pain girl!!

Nurse Whipple

So, this past week Niels has been pretty sick, he got sick last Saturday just upchuckin everywhere! Everyday since then he has thrown up at least once or twice. And this boy is soooooo stubborn about going to the doctor! So finally on Thursday I made him go cause he was still getting sick after 5 days! So he went and they didnt even tell him anything of course, they just gave him some nausea medicine and sent him on his way! Well its been a week now and i woke up to my poor little husband getting sick in our bathroom... Something is seriously wrong with his tummy and Im starting to really worry about what is goin on in there! If his stomach is still paining by Tuesday Im making him go back to the doctor, I cant stand to see him suffer! :[ But I think Ive been an OK nurse, giving him liquids and crackers and stuff!

Also this week, I had another ultra sound on my "cyst"(thats what the doctors are calling it but the specialist doesnt think its a cyst). They just wanted to check and see if it had gotten any smaller or bigger, but its still the same size, 8cm long and about 6cm wide. The specialist doctor never got back to us to let us know what she thought it could have been, so my doctor is going to call her and see if she can get anymore updates on it. The only good thing about this so called cyst is I get more ultra sounds than anyone else normally would! Addison weighs 1.3 pounds! Im really starting to pop now too, Im excited about it! 

And update on the rents: Their doin really good! Walking around and starting to be more active each day I think. At least they dont look like an old couple walking around anymore lol ! 

MISSION GAIN ALOT!

Wow, I never thought I'd try so hard to gain weight! 

Im constantly trying to snack on something, and you'd think oh thats nice but when there is a baby in you always kicking and making your stomach feel really tight, then filling yourself up with more and more food is almost painful! Im not in pain, its just uncomfortable at times.

I went to the doctor yesterday and ive gained only about 8 pounds since ive been pregnant and Im right about 23 weeks(beginning of my 6th month). My doc said EAT EAT EAT!!! 

So here I am:

23 weeks, 107lbs!

Thats the most I have ever weighed! Im pretty proud of myself :] ! But other than my weight gain, baby Addison is doing great, her heart beat is strong and she is kickin mom all day long!

And tell me this is not the cutest thing youve ever seen:

Im Back!

I feel like I havent blogged in forever! lol!! I was using free wifi from people that didnt have passwords on their stuff, then ALL THE SUDDEN they all stopped working! Like they put passwords on their wifi! How dare people! lol So we got our own internet finally! hahah!

AND we got a house phone! I feel like an official family now ! Cant wait for the prank calls to come in...RONI AND BEN!! I say bring it on!

So I took a tour of Paul Mitchell yesterday. It is FAR, 35th ave and bethany home. Ill do what I gotta do though! It a nice school, small classes so Id get alot of help. Im excited to start soon though.

My family dog Sadie! She is soooo stinkin cute! BUT she looooooooves Niels! She forgot all about me all weekend and was his lil buddy! 

She sat on him while watching tv, cried at the door whenever he left, slept on him and even waited outside the bathroom door for him! I have to admit, I was a little jealous lol 

She was so entertaining when we had out little hamster Mumbles in her ball. She just follewed her ball around and was so confused as to what was in the ball! lol

A little update on my dad and Jeannie, my dad is doing awesome! his blood pressure went back to normal almost instantly! The rest of his kidney finction are all normal too. He should be coming home tomorrow night! Jeannie got to go home last night. Shes doin pretty good too, shes walkin around just a little bit, shes pretty sore. Shes in a little more pain just cause she got something takin out, but shes doin great too! Im so glad everything went perfectly!

Who loved the weather yesterday?! Um, meeee!! I had the doors all open and the air off! it was perfect! I feel like those days are the perfect days to clean your house, so thats what I did while Niels was working! Im also becoming quite the cook! Yesterday I made cheesy potato soup in my crock pot... I get really nervous when i cook cause I want it to be perfect! And I definitly had to pat myself on the back for this one!

I will for sure be making this again soon!

Tonight I made porkchops(on the george foreman!), corn on the cob and some cheap rice that tasted delicious! Im stuffed for sure. I cant wait to become the best cook EVER!

Paul Mitchell the school called me the other day! I have a tour of the school scheduled next week and I am SOOO excited! Hello student loans though! I have a feeling it will be totally worth it in the end though. My Plan is to one day open up a salon/spa that will be all fancy shmancy and you can get whatever you wanted done there! It will be awesome!

The Surgery!

So for those of you that dont know, my dad has a kidney disease(i couldnt tell you the proper name of it!) that runs in the Durnan family. For awhile his kidney function has gotten lower and lower to the point that they were going to put him on the list for a transplant and he would have had to be put on dialysis. Well my step mom Jeannie wanted to see if she would possibly be a match for him so she could donate her kidney to him, but my dad wouldnt let her at first.. lol men! :] Well anywho, she got tested, had the same blood type and eventually turns out her kidney was a perfect match for him!

My grandma also needs a kidney transplant, and we just found out today at the hospital my uncle Larry was in the clear to donate his kidney to her!

So today was the surgery, Niels and I got to the Mayo Clinic really early this morning and watched them go off! After a few hours the doc came out, told us the transplant went well. While they were connecting everything to the new kidney in my dad, the kidney turned a blue color(not good), the doctor said it was very strange, so he took it back off and found a blood clot starting to form in one of the artery's. So then, he fixed that right away and gave him some blood thinners and the surgery carried on. Thank god the doctor caught the clot in time, otherwise it could have been an epic fail! So they are both in recovery now and doin good. Dad will be in the hospital till about friday, I hope his body and the kidney get along! lol

Something really cool that happened at the hospital today was my uncle Joe came to the hospital this morning in his military uniform cause he had came from work... And throughout the day so many people came up to him and shook his hand and told him thank you for his service, one lady even bought his lunch in the hospital cafiteria! It was awesome! I love to see that there are people out there that really do appriciate what these men and women do for our country. My family is a military family, I have about 4 close unlces and an aunt that serve and its nice to know people other than friends and family are thinkin of them!

My kinda Busy/not so busy day..

Well today I finally got the last load of laundry in the wash from our trip. It seemed like it was never going to end! Then my friends Chrissy and Tarah came over and saw my new and improved place(it was a hit!), and we went out to lunch to YC's Mongolian Grill. To anyone that hasnt been there, you must try it! I have never been let down, but mainly thats because you can make your food anyway you could possibly want. Its delicious. In fact I have left overs and I might warm it up now! :] I also finally got my room all cleaned up! Now all thats left is putting the new comfortor on the bed!

Niels and I spent some time at my dads house tonight. He is having a kidney transplant in the morning. My step mom was a match for the transplant, so she is giving him her kidney.
I think that that is just amazing! I hope that God has put Niels and I in each others lives for a crazy reason like that, ya know?! I mean, I dont wish either of us need a transplant in the future or anything like that.. but ya know what Im trying to say right?! lol I love Niels so much!! I believe our purpose is to make a beautiful family like his mom and dad did! I adore the Whipple family! I want to be like them and make cute litte family traditions for each holiday and just be a real close family. Thats mainly all I want in life! And I think Im off to a great start!

After pop's house I came home and showered. Niels puts lotion on my legs for me cause now Im at the point where its uncomfortable to bend down. I no longer can see my toes when i look down! Now I am watching Niels make a very over-sized pancake at midnight!

Overall, I'd say a pretty good day!!

What now?!

Totally dont know how I use this thing yet, but I think Im starting to figure it out.. :] So Im going to start this blogging thing to keep me occupied and just because it looks like fun! Now I can talk with my sister-in-law and mother-in-law about all these other blogs they see haha! Well, my home is FINALLY looking homie after the wedding!. My husband Niels has worked all day long the past couple days to make my living room look just the way I wanted, and hes done great! Im extremely lucky!

Niels and I woke up this morning to little baby Addison kicking this morning, she is always awake in the mornings! I heard that means she will be born in the morning(hopefully not, Im not a morning person!). Niels always tries to catch her kicking but once he puts his hand on my tummy she stops. Shes kind of stubborn, like her mommy! :] Oh, and for anyone wondering how our honeymoon was, it was awesome and beautiful! I wouldnt mind buying a little beach house in the Bahamas one day!

Well, Im really excited about this whole blogging thing by the way! Cant wait to have a bunch of blogs!!
